Terms of Service

Last updated: September 12, 2026

Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account you confirm you have read and accept these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. You are asked to tick a box to that effect before signing up. You may also try Amy as a guest without an account; using the Service in any form means you accept these Terms.

About the service

Amy is an AI-powered tutoring platform that uses large language models to help students learn. Responses are generated by AI and may contain mistakes — they should always be reviewed and verified, especially for exam preparation, factual claims, or any high-stakes decision.

Eligibility

Amy is for learners of all ages, from primary school upwards. There is no minimum age. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian to use Amy, and younger children should use it with a parent, guardian or teacher nearby. Where a school enrols you, your school is responsible for obtaining that permission from your parent or guardian.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You may not share your account or use someone else's account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Amy in ways that violate your school or institution's academic integrity policies.
  • Generate content that is illegal, harmful, hateful, or sexually explicit.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overwhelm the Service.
  • Resell or commercialise Amy's outputs without our written permission.
  • Upload other people's personal data, or record another person's voice, without their consent.
  • Share an account, or use a school code you were not given.
  • Attempt to make Amy produce content that breaks these Terms, including by disguising the request.

Voice calls and audio

Amy can hold a spoken lesson. When you start a voice call and press the microphone button, your browser captures audio and converts it to text so Amy can respond, and Amy's replies are turned back into speech. Recognition and speech synthesis are performed by your browser and by our speech provider. We store the resulting text transcript of the call; we do not keep the audio recording itself. Your microphone is only accessed while a call is open and you have started speaking, and you can end a call at any time.

AI providers we use

Amy is built on AI models we do not operate ourselves. To answer you, the content of your conversation — including any image or document you upload — is sent to one or more of:

  • Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini) and Sarvam AI, for generating Amy's replies and course material.
  • OpenAI, for generated images and realtime voice features.
  • Sarvam AI, for converting Amy's replies into speech.

Which provider handles a given request depends on the subject, language and settings for your course. These providers process your input under their own terms. We may change providers as the Service evolves.

What you upload

You may send Amy photographs of your work and upload documents such as PDFs. We process them to answer your question and, where relevant, to build course material. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to share, and do not upload other people's personal information, identity documents, or anything confidential.

Who can see your conversations

Your lesson chats, free chats and voice-call transcripts are saved to your account so you can return to them. If you joined through a school, that school's administrators and teachers can read your full transcripts for the courses they run, along with your progress and quiz attempts. Amy's own administrators can access transcripts to operate and support the Service. Treat a conversation with Amy as schoolwork rather than a private diary, and do not share personal details you would not put in an assignment.

Guest access and fair use

You can try Amy without an account. Guest use is capped — a small number of messages per day, and a limit on spoken replies — so the Service stays available to everyone. Some features, including generated diagrams and voice calls, need an account. We may adjust these limits, and we may rate-limit or block use that we judge to be automated or abusive.

Intellectual property

Amy's code, branding, course content authored by us, and the Amy persona are owned by Amy. You retain ownership of anything you submit (your messages, uploaded documents) and grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process it for the sole purpose of providing the Service.

AI-generated content

Amy's responses, including diagrams, worked solutions and quiz questions, are generated by an AI model. While we work to ensure accuracy, Amy can be wrong, and a confident answer is not necessarily a correct one. Do not rely on Amy alone for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. For exam preparation, always cross-check with official syllabus documents and textbooks. Amy is a study aid, not a substitute for your teacher or your own work, and using it to complete assessed work may breach your school's academic integrity rules.

Service availability

Amy is currently in early access and provided on a best-effort basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features for maintenance or improvement. We will give reasonable notice for major changes that affect users.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your Profile page, under “Danger Zone”. Deleting your account removes your conversations, voice-call transcripts and progress. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Disclaimer and liability

Amy is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Amy is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice before they take effect, and continuing to use Amy after that means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of India.
